# Personas

Status: **Proposed 2026-09-24**

Four personas, in priority order. The first two are the customers. The last two are guests: the product serves them only where it helps the first two.

## 1. The activist

Signed up because a friend showed them the app at a vigil. Wants to know what is happening this month, which restaurants near work are actually vegan, and who else from their Grove is going Saturday. Might be new to activism and nervous about being visible.

Needs: a map that works, an events list they trust, a way to say "I'm going" without announcing it to the world, friends they chose, a place to log what they did.

Must never: be searchable by name, appear on any public list, have their location stored, or be contacted by a business.

## 2. The organizer

Runs a Grove or hosts events for an organization. Coordinates twenty to two hundred people, mostly over group chats that leak. Needs to know how many are coming and who, so they can plan rides and safety.

Needs: create and edit events, see the attendee list for their own events, message attendees, mark a venue as "details after RSVP" for actions that need it, and see aggregate counts for their Grove.

Must never: see attendee lists for events they do not host, export members, or see anyone's email.

## 3. The sanctuary

A rescue with a volunteer program and a donation page. Wants volunteers to show up and visitors to find them.

Needs: an accurate Place page, events for volunteer days hosted under their Organization, and a "Support" link out to their own donation page.

Must never: receive member data, message members directly, or post into the feed. The organizer who runs the sanctuary's account is a member like anyone else.

## 4. The business owner

Owns a vegan restaurant or a shop with vegan options. Wants to be on the map with the right vegan level.

Needs: a correct Place page, a way to claim it and fix hours, and honest reviews.

Must never: see who reviewed them beyond the handle the reviewer opted to show, contact reviewers, or buy placement.

## What this rules out

- Any admin tool that lists members with identifying detail beyond the handle.
- Any "people nearby" feature.
- Any export of attendees, members, or friends.
- Any paid placement or sponsorship inside Places or Events.
